What is Massachusetts Car-Free Week?
Massachusetts joins over 1,000 cities in 40 countries around the globe to celebrate World Car-Free Day on September 22, 2011. World Car-Free Day began in Europe and has quickly spread to communities globally as a way to promote the environmental, financial, community, and health benefits of using public transportation, carpooling, bicycling, walking, and teleworking. This year, Massachusetts celebrates all week, with activities and events happening between September 18-24.
Get Involved!
Individuals: Travel car-free as many days as you can from September 18 - 24, 2011 and track your trips! Participants will be eligible to win daily prizes and our grand prize - a $250 Amazon gift card. This event is FREE (and a lot of fun!).
Employers and Communities: Register your company or community as a Massachusetts Car-Free Week participant. Registration is free, and individuals who track their car-free trips on September 18th - 24th will be eligible to win great prizes.

Individuals
There are lots of ways you can be car-free. Bicycle or walk to work or to run errands, try teleworking for the day, find a carpool partner and share your trip, vanpool, or take public transportation.
Employers
