Massachusetts Clean Air Challenge
September 20–27

Each year, Massachusetts travelers strive to improve air-quality by choosing more sustainable transportation options during the Massachusetts Clean Air Challenge. This year, Massachusetts challenges you to explore your commuting options from September 20th-27th. Let's show how much we can save in money and carbon emissions throughout the entire Commonwealth in one work week!

Get Involved! »

Participating in the Massachusetts Clean Air Challenge is FREE, and it's easy! Try traveling by foot, bicycle, carpool, vanpool, transit, or telecommuting for as many trips as you can during September 20th-27th.

  1. Register in NuRide , the Commonwealth’s ridematching and commuter rewards system (if you’re already registered, skip this step!).
  2. Take as many green trips (carpool, vanpool, bicycle, walk, transit, telecommute) as you can between September 20th-27th and record each in NuRide using the trip calendar.
  3. Win prizes for contributing to cleaner air during #MACleanAir. Plus, after the challenge is over, keep tracking your green trips in NuRide to earn points at restaurants, retailers and attractions.
